Wholesale Corn
Freshness You Can Count On
At Daniels Produce, we raise only bi-colored sweet corn to achieve the best possible product. Our sweet corn sales are from July 10th to mid September.
Each ear of our sweetcorn is handpicked and then hydro-cooled to preserve the natural sugars. Our corn is sprayed for earworm control when needed to provide the best pest free product.
Topping & Harvesting
Topping is performed three to four days prior to harvest to allow for quick and easy handpicking.
Then to ensure the highest quality product, our crews move into the field and pick every ear by hand.
Hydro-Cooling
Within 30 minutes or less of hand picking, all Daniels corn is submerged in a tank of water-cooled to 38 degrees Fahrenheit. Our hydrocooler has a 50 ton cooling capacity.
Our corn is covered with ice from our 36,000lb/day ice machine and then stored in our cooling shed.
The core temperature of all of our corn is below 42 degrees when shipped out.
Hand Packed
We hand pack our sweet corn in plastic Macrobins, cardboard bins, 48 count waxed boxes, or 48 count RPC for members of the RPC program.
Plastic Macrobins each contain approximately 60 dozen ears or 720 ears and require a deposit.
Our cardboard bins are crafted, marked with safety arrows and fit on a 40X48" pallet. Each contains approximately 50 dozen or 600 ears per bin. They are shipped double stacked, 44 bins per refer truck.
Our 48 count waxed cardboard boxes can be palleted to your specifications
RPCs Program 48 count RPCs are a packaging option for those customers who are in the program and handle the responsibility for all RPC rental costs, tracking and exchanges.
