Daniels Produce is proudly owned and operated by husband-and-wife team, Andy and Tannie Daniels. What began as a small roadside venture has grown into a full-scale vegetable operation one of the most trusted names in fresh produce across the Midwest.
Andy, a 1974 graduate of the University of Nebraska with degrees in Agronomy and Agricultural Economics, has been farming alongside Tannie for over 40 years. In the early 1980s, faced with limited opportunities in traditional row-crop farming, they made a bold decision: to diversify into fresh market vegetable production. That move changed everything.
With their three young children in tow, Tannie launched a humble roadside stand in Columbus, Nebraska, selling sweet corn and melons by the dozen. Her passion, hustle, and personal touch quickly built a loyal following. What started as a local stand soon caught the attention of produce vendors and grocers. By the early ’90s, Daniels sweet corn was being shipped wholesale and regional warehouses across the Midwest wanted in.
Thanks to the overwhelming support of the Columbus community and beyond, Daniels Produce experienced steady, strategic growth. What began with a roadside stand now spans over 600 acres of vegetables annually, supplying fresh, premium-quality produce to customers across Nebraska, Kansas, Missouri, and as far as Texas and Florida.
Today, Tannie operates six retail stands across Nebraska and manages ten weekend farmers markets, ensuring our vegetables stay fresh, local, and accessible to families across the state.
At Daniels Produce, we’re not just growing crops we’re growing a legacy built on faith, family, and forward-thinking farming. And after four decades in the field, we’re just getting started.
Meet the Crew
Nearly all of our seasonal labor force is proudly sourced through the US guest worker H2A Visa Program, meaning we have certified LEGAL labor direct from Mexico, Guatemala and Honduras. Our crews are some of the most reliable and highly skilled crews that you will find anywhere. We are thrilled and honored to work side by side with them everyday on our family farm.

One of our core goals is to evolve with our customers’ priorities while never compromising on the quality that built our reputation. We’re committed to staying nimble enough to maintain our high standards, even as we expand our reach.
Each winter, we travel to leading vegetable conferences across the country, researching the latest seed varieties, sustainable farming practices, and innovative growing techniques. These investments help us stay on the cutting edge so we can deliver the freshest, most flavorful products available on the market.
As we grow, we’re also focused on improving the efficiency of our wholesale, retail, and production operations.

In vegetables, timing is everything, and we work hard to make
sure we have our products ready when you want them
In 2014 we added Produce Traceability Initiative (PTI) Print Labels to all of our packaging. This allows us and our customers to trace all product forwards and backwards so we are able to provide the safest and freshest product to the consumer.
